ZAGBA Program Overview

ZAGBA offers two levels of play.

Our Fall Fundamental League is our in-house program for learning the fundamentals of basketball skills, teamwork and games. Girls entering K-6th grades can play at this level. K - 2nd grades play together, 3rd & 4th grades play together and 5th & 6th grades play together, all on teams of about 10 girls each. Practices generally start the first week of school and the league is finished prior to Thanksgiving. Girls will have one or two practices a week, depending on age, and play two games on Saturdays. We have partnered with Becker and Princeton, so game locations are split between the three communities. Our games will fall on the following dates: 9/25, 10/02, 10/9 and 10/16.  Coaches will provide locations in the upcoming practices. For more information on the Fall Fundamental League, contact Robin Bondhus This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Our Travel program is based on try-outs for girls entering 5th -8th grades. Each grade has a team of up to ten girls; two teams may be made if enough girls in a given grade try-out.

Fall Travel (new for 2010)

Girls entering 5th -8th grade will play 4 tournaments.  Try-outs are scheduled for 8/17/10 and 8/23/10.  Please review the calendar for times and location.

Fall Travel tryouts have been completed.  Please see the Travel page for the roster.

Regular Winter Travel

Girls entering 4th, 5th and 6th grades will play 8 weekend tournaments and girls entering 7th and 8th grade will play in 10 weekend tournaments. We try to schedule most our tournaments close to home, including Becker, Big Lake, St. Michael, and Princeton. Some years we have scheduled an overnight tournament and often the state tournaments end up being farther away for some grades. Stay tuned for travel tryout date. Please review the calendar for times and location. For more information on our travel program, contact Sheldon Pool or Randy Butau our travel directors.

Winter Travel registrations must be submitted no later than September 27th.  Early bird registration discount of $20.00 ends September 19th.
